The Sakhīs escort Rādhā towards Kṛṣṇa’s kuñja
Thus, with Rādhā's permission, the padma locanā Sakhīs escort Her towards Kṛṣṇa's keli- kuñja, as the stars accompany the moon. And as they briskfully stride, their jingling ankle-bells and the flower garlands swaying from their breasts stimulate an amorous mood. Yet the bees are blinded by the fragrance of Rādhā's face! So as they shiver their wings, the path becomes darkened and they dart upwards.
Wherever padma nayanā Rādhā's restless eyes wander, the excited bumble bees swarm like a shower of blue lotus petals! Wherever Rādhā's bodily luster streams like a lightning flash, the forest fills with a shimmering effulgence! And wherever Rādhā's lotus feet traverse, moonbeams toss in waves from Her toenails which embrace the earth's chest! Aho! The Cakoras are outstretching their beaks as they swoop down to drink this amṛta.
Meanwhile, Vrajendra-nandana is handsomely dressed and waiting in the keli-vinod-kuñja that is pompously decorated to serve as the kalā-kṣetra (theater) for Cupid's love tournament.
As the Vraja-sundarīs approach, Kṛṣṇa's viraha (fever) subsides and He blows His flute to stir the elephant of their patience! As the gopīs hear the flute's vibration, their hands shake, their doe like bodies become stunned, their cheeks flare with goosebumps and tears stream from their eyes! Although everyone carefully tries to hide their emotions, they fail!
Thus, a gopī address Rādhā: "Oh Śrīmatī! You were joking about the Muralī, calling it a dry piece of bamboo. Now it's returning to remind You of its nobility!
Another gopī says: "Oh Sakhi, stop teasing Rādhā! Now She's learning Her lesson from the flute! As Her patience is fading, Rādhā's entire body erupts with goosebumps as though pierced by icy winds... and tears pour from Her eyes, as though flower pollen had entered them!"
Then Candra-vadanā (moon faced) Rādhā turns to these sakhīs and as if irritated (while Her hand shivers) exclaims: "I've taken your association to attain His shelter, but just see, the consequences are already fructifying!"
As the sakhīs and Rādhā continue disputing (delivering pleasure to all), suddenly that Rasika vilāsī Nāgarendra appears from behind the bushes, displaying a soft, madhura smile! Thus Kṛṣṇāhnika Kaumudī brings us to where Govinda Līlāmṛta next chapter begins.
