The cause of transcendental faith

The cause of transcendental faith

According to the Transcendental Knowledge as recorded in Brihan-naradiya Puran (4.33) the transcendental faith comes out of spiritual pious activities - sukriti, which are linked to Bhakti for the Transcendental Lord, one has performed in previous lives:

bhaktis tu bhagavad-bhakta sangena parijayate
sat-sanga-prapyate pumbhih sukritaih purva-sancitai

One gets devotional service - parijAyate bhaktis -
by association with highly qualified devotees - sangena bhagavad-bhakta,
but this spiritual association - tu sat sanga
can be attained be humans - prapyate pumbhih
through vast accumulation - sancitai
of previous spiritual pious activities - purva sukritaih

These sukriti of previous lives, which give birth to spiritual association (sadhu-sanga) are the result of association with
1. Devotees of the Transcendental Lord
2. Holy days - as Ekadaşi, Janmaştami, Gaura-purnim ...
3. Devotional objects - as seeing or toutchind the Tulasi-Plant, honoring the food served to the Lord - maha-prasad; etc.
4. Spiritual sights - tirthas as temples of the Transcendental Lord, Şri Vrindavana, Govardhan, Mathura, Radha Kunda, which are conected with the Transcendental Lord, or sacred rivers as Gange or Yamuna.

When these activities are performed without knowledge of their transcendental significance, they are called sukriti, otherwise they are limbs of devotional practice- bhakti sadhana.
