Rāi and Kānu leave the cave - Rādhā's swan locket
The dāsī's song goes on:
kiye aparūpa rāsa maṇdala ramaṇī mohinī rādhā
manmatha mana pāilo acetana ḍākiyā aṅga cchaṭā
What fantastic beauty! The playfully seducing Rādhā is dancing upon the stage.
Her bodilly effulgence makes even Cupid to faint
Unable to hold back another moment, Madana Mohana comes running to embrace Mohinī Rāi. He exclaims: Āho rey, jaya, jaya Rāseśvarī Vinodinī Rāi, bright,
full moon of Vṛṣabhānu Vaṃśa!
Viśākhā's face lights up with surprise and she suddenly takes over by switching to the mālinī rāga, singing a song that no one has ever heard before:
nāgarī nāgara rāi rasarāja raṅge milalo duhu maṇdalī mājhe
ati rase pulakita duhuṅ aṅga upajata koto koto madana taraṅga
Then the lady-love Rāi and the lover-king of extatic emotions meet (upon the dance stage - Rāsa-Maṇḍala). Their bodies shiver in horripilation as Cupid's waves cascade over Them.
Kṛṣṇa embraces Rādhā and her dancing stops. But Viśākhā goes on.
Rāi's hair and dress loosen and the music and singing stops.
"Now I see why Vṛndā came to decorate with flowers" the dāsī contemplates, "what a splendid Yugala Milana!" After a while, as Rāi and Kānu leave the cave, the sādhaka mañjarī overhears Them.
Kṛṣṇa: Priye, because I'm staying at your home, tonight we can go out on Abhisāra together.
The dāsī curously wander over to the bed of flowers to have a look. Rādhā's precious locket is lying there. She picks it up. Blue sapphires decorate its border and
a golden swan is inlaid in the center. While looking at its brilliancy, the dāsī is mesmerised. But then she remembers: Oh this belongs to Svāminī!
Thus she hurries otuside to return it. But meanwhile Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa have disappeared. (her heart starts beating faster) Where are they? After searching for a moment, she finds two sets of footprints. "Āha, these caraṇa chinas (footprints) belong to my Yugala Kiśora!"
Thus feeling overwhelmed she rubs their dust over her head and brests and becomes stunned. Moments later, her memory returns: "Oh, I must quickly return Svāminīs locket!" So she begins following the caraṇa chinas. They lead up the hill. Coming to the base of a twisting Mādhavī-vine, however she notices many footprins have merged together.
"Hmm!" she wonders, "Kṛṣṇa must have tried to kiss Rādhā, she offered resistance and Kṛṣṇa firmly embraced haer. Judging by the displayed chinas, surely they must habe tussled her for a while."
Continuing up the hilly path she finds another place where many footprints are blotted together. But then each set leads in a different direction.
"Āha!", she considers, "Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa must have separated here!" She decides to follow Rādhā's caraṇa chinas. The sun has just set and she repeatedly hears the sound of the peacock's cry. "Āha, Rādhā must be crying too. Oh, and there she is, just ahead. She is weeping while embracing a "Tamāla tree."
The sādhakā dāsī approaches to give solace: "Oh Śrīmatī, it's getting dark, surely your mother and Mukharā must be looking for you. Let's get up and quickly go back to the house."
