Rāgānunga Bhakti a meditation practice

Rāgānugā Bhakti is the meditational practice which also includes the adolescent spiritual love,
in which the Object of Love is Śrī Krishna in its eternal adolescent form.

Sriman Mahaprabhu taught Sanatana Goswami:
mane nija siddha‑deha kariyā bhāvana
"Use the mind for contemplating your siddha deha (perfect, spiritual body)." (CC 2.22.157)

Similarly He instructed Rāmānanda Raya:
siddha dehe cinti kore tāhāi sevana
"Visualize your siddha deha and mentally serve in that form." (CC 2.8.228)

The general characteristics of this path are explained as follows:

virājantim abhivyaktaḿ vrajavāsi-janādiṣu |
rāgātmikām anusṛtā yā sā rāgānugocyate
|| (Bhakti rasamrita Sindhu 1.2.270)

"The devotion that is obviously present in Krishna's associates in Vraja
is called devotion full of loving attachment (ragatmika-bhakti),
and the devotion that follows this ragatmika-bhakti is called raganuga-bhakti."

Among the associates of the Transcendental Lord of Vraja
are also the 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐫𝐚𝐣𝐚,
and their love is the purest, being not disturbed by any other wishes.

rāga-bhaktye vraje svayaḿ- bhagavāne pāya || (Caitanya caritamrita 2.24.85)

"Through raga-bhakti, one will attain the original Transcendental Lord (svayaḿ- bhagavāne) of Vraja."

rāgānuga-mārge tāńre bhaje yei jana
sei-jana pāya vraje vrajendra-nandana
|| (cc 2.8.221)

"One who practices worship by following the rāgānuga path will attain
Vrajendra-nandana (son of Nanda - Șri Krișna) in Vraja."

In the realm of Vraja (Vrindavan) sweet and intimate human-like activities prevail.
Only in such an atmosphere is it possible for love to reach its peak.

Divine love that is mixed with
awareness of the omnipotence of the Transcendental Lord
is diminished by reverence and fear of Him,
having an inferior quality as confirmed by Śrī Krishna Caitanya.
