Krishna-bhāvanāmṛta 3

Krishna follows Radha in an Aśoka-Kuñja named Mañjula Vyañjula Kuñja

As the conversation continues-suddenly Rūpa Mañjarī arrives to tell Śrīmatī: "The 'moon' (Śrī Krishna) is rising in a nearby kuñja!"
Vṛṣabhānu-nandinī then looks, notices Krishna Candra, and contemplates: "Uh-o! Owing to the mantra's power, Krishna's beauty is increasing at every moment with newer and newer virility!"

Then she informs the sakhis: "Look! Here comes Krishna-he wants to put us under his spell-so what can we do? Hey Lalite! When Krishna's moon-like effulgence destroys our patience from a distance-what's going to happen when he arrives within our midst? Oh no! Krishna has attained mystic siddhi for fulfilling his sarva kāma! So he Lalite! Please tell me where to hide? If he catches me now, surely, He'll steal my intelligence! Who knows what will happen as the mantra's spell awakens?"

Thus speaking in fear and anxiety, Radha hunches her back and scurries to a nearby Aśoka-kuñja for shelter. But the sound of her own ankle bells cause Srimati to think that Krishna is closely following behind! Then Radhika ducks behind a Kadamba tree's branches-and looking back again and again -her glances appear like a barrage of arrows! From a distance Krishna sees kuṅkuma-kānti-ramaṇī śiromaṇī Radha. But instead of following her, he decides to approach the others first, and says, "Hey sakhis! Where's Radhika?"
Lalita answers, "Oh Mādhava! She went home."
Krishna retorts: "Hey Lalite! Your days of cheating me are over-for I've become mantra siddha! Now I understand all of your tricks!"

Nāndīmukhī steps over to Lalitā and whispers into her ear: "Oh Sakhi! Now that Krishna is clairvoyant by the mantra's power, we'd better tell him the truth; otherwise, we may suffer! So, let's cooperate and show where Radha is by our eye-gestures. On the other hand, if Radha becomes angry with us for telling, there's nothing to fear because she can't do anything to us."
Complying with Nāndīmukhī's advice, Lalitā hints with her eyes and Krishna quickly enters a Vyañjula kuñja to discover Radha.

Krishna exclaims, "Hey Sundari! What are you doing? Aha! Are you chanting a mantra for alluring me to this lonely place? Certainly, that must be the case because I've been forcefully attracted! All right, I surrender, you may do whatever you like with me! Hey Sundari! You've become so powerful by your japa that if you strongly crush me within your embrace, or bite me with your teeth-I won't be able to stop you!"

Hearing these words, Radhika presents her first charity- her eyebrows arch, ever new amrita streams from her smile and she rebukes Krishna in a faltering voice: "Hey cunning fellow! You're the one who uses such mantras to spread adharma! And now you want to destroy a chaste woman's religious principles!"

As Radha slips out of reach, Krishna is stunned by her vacanāmṛta and hāsyāmṛta -yet Radha's adharāmṛta madhu remains unattainable! Thus Krishna grabs Radha's hands, and she exclaims, "Na, na! You shouldn't do this!" Krishna touches Radha's breasts and she bends over to reproach him! Then Krishna forcibly kisses Radha's lips, and she shrieks! But as Radha remains in opposition-Krishna forcefully carries her away to the keli mandir.

Thus, her neck twists, her hips shake and she kicks her feet, saying: "Na, na, na!" Seeing this sight, one might guess that a streak of lightning is dancing within a thick dark cloud, or that Kandarpa Rāja is flexing his champak flower-bow to produce a twanging sound! Next Mādhava places Radha on the flowerbed, and 'Kandarpa's battle' begins! Radha and Krishna confront each other like two stout wrestlers, yet their expansive madhurya creates wonder! Aho! As the Divine Couple's rati keli prowess progresses -light beams of premāmṛta floods in ten directions!

(Srila Chakravartipada mentions: "Radhika is the kāma of Krishna prema. Although prema and kāma are quite different in our world-still the rasika bhaktas know that the parama Nirmala prema of the Vraja-kāminīs is kāma).

Meanwhile, as Radha Mādhava's Anāṅga Vilāsa continues within the Mañjula Vyañjula kuñja, Lalitā and the other sakhis happily remain conversing in another flower garden. But Vṛndā and Nāndīmukhī attain their desire to view the wonderful spectacle of Radha Govinda's nikuñja keli!
