Kṛṣṇahnika-kaumudi vana vihāra 2

Using his glossy fingernail, Kṛṣṇa draws a picture of a large pomegranate. But Rādhā's glossy teeth sparkle as she shrieks! (Rādhā's bhāva-ṣābalya (opposing emotions) awakens when she is reminded of her shapely breasts).
When Priya-Keśava presses a red leaf to his lips, Prāṇeśvarī Rāi displays the śṛṅgāra bhāva Vikāra of helā (Arching her back and pushing her breasts forward, rolling her eyes with dancing eyebrows, Śrīmatī exhibits the Alaṅkāra (adornment) called helā that reveal her amorous intentions.) and covers her moon-face! Then Prāṇa Govinda eagerly rushes to embrace a forest-latā's blossoming flower-but Yuvatī-ratna-Śiromaṇi Rādhā feigns anger and crosses her hands to cover her breasts!

Then a Sakhī collects various colored leaves and flowers to skillfully fashion Kṛṣṇa's Makara-earrings. Another Gopī collects an assortment of white, yellow, green and red leaves that are glossy like jewels. She uses them to make a Vaṁśī. One fortunate Sakhī picks the best Campak flowers to fashion Kṛṣṇa's crown. Then she gathers Nāga-Keśara flowers which resemble Kāmadeva's Vīṇā; they are strung together to make Kṛṣṇa's Kāñchi (waist ornament).

Bringing his Vana-vihāra to a close, Kṛṣṇa enters the summer forest with his taruṇī Ramaṇīs. The blooming Śirīṣa, Kuraca and rose flowers are abundant; their divine fragrance fills the air. So Kṛṣṇa goes to sit under a shady tree to take rest. As the strong scent of rose and Śirīṣa flowers lingers in the breeze, Kṛṣṇa thinks, "Aha! This fragrant breeze is performing Cāmara Sevā-it's relieving the fatigue of my beloved Gopīs who are tired from wandering in the forest."

While seated under the shady trees, Kṛṣṇa and the Gopīs look towards the Kālindī-Aho! Its banks are lined with jeweled ghats to fulfill the purport of the Keli-tantras; here is the ideal setting for Kṛṣṇa's keli rahasya (intimate) pastimes! Thus, Kṛṣṇa and the Gopīs' desire awakens to enjoy Jala keli. This Kṛṣṇahnika-kaumudi description offers diversity to Rādhā Kṛṣṇa's aṣṭa-kala schedule because these pastimes unfold on the Yamunā's banks. In Govinda-Līlāmṛta and Kṛṣṇa -bhāvanāmṛta, however, the midday's Jala keli unfolds at Rādhā Kuṇḍa. Thus, Sādhakas will find a great scope for performing Manasi Sevā-for the Līlā's setting can always vary.
