9 Radha's love - the highest type of Prema kanta

rāya kahe, - ihāra āge puche hena jane
eta-dina nāhi jāni, āchaye bhuvane
ińhāra madhye rādhāra prema - 'sādhhya-śiromaṇi'
yāńhāra mahimā sarva-śāstrete vākhāni (CC 2.8.97-98 )

that there is such a person in the world - achaye bhuvane hena jane

Of these (kinds of love of the gopīs), Radha's love - madhye inhara prema radhara
is the jeweled crown of (all) purposes (of life), - śiromani sadhya
whose greatness is spoken of in all scriptures. - yanhara mahima vakhani sarva-sastrete

Tika: Rādhā's maidservants - the Mañjarīs - because of the empathy they have with Radha, they feel what Radha feels and thus feel the same feelings that Radha feels towards Krsna.

And though they feel the most peculiar feelings of Radha's love for Krișna, they still remain far away from Krișna, not daring in any way to love Krișna directly or have a direct relationship with Krișna.

Directly they are Radha's servants, being in dasya rasa towards Rādhā, but because they, however, feel the same feelings of Radha towards Kṛṣṇa, Rūpa Gosvami being Rūpa Mañjarī in Krisna lila, considers the mangeari to be in madhurya rasa with Krysna, although they participate in Krysna's erotic games only as servants of Yugala Kiśora.

The Gaudiya Vaișnava school of Vrindavan considers this love of the mañjari as the highest type of love a practitioner can attain, particularly emphasizing the servant nature for Radha.

That is why practitioners are suggested to meditate as a maidservant of Radha and in no case to meditate as a direct lover of Krsna, a nayka - a heroine of erotic love - who is in a direct erotic love relationship with Krsna, as for example Radha's sakhis are with Krsna, while being friends with Radha.

Radha's intimate servant - Mañjari as direct lover of Krysna

According to other Vaișnavas one can accept both types of adolescent erotic love

• that of a nayka (heroine of love games) in which you are in a direct relationship with Krișna
• and that of a mangeari, in which you also act as an intimate servant of Radha,

tasting your own love for Krisna, as portrayed by Anaṇga Mañjari, Radha's younger sister.

Anaṇga Mañjari is Śrī Jahnava Ṭhakuraṇi in Goura lila (The Pastimes of Krisna when he appeared about 500 years ago on earth in the form of Śrī Caitanya), the wife of Nityānanda Prabhu.
