5.7 Radha the source of supreme ecstasy Mahā Bhāva

tayor apy ubhayor madhye rādhikā sarvathādhikā
mahābhāva-svarūpeyaḿ guṇair ativarīyasī CC 2.8.161
premera svarūpa-deha prema vibhāvita
kṛṣṇera preyasī-śreṣṭhā jagate vidita 162
ānanda cinmaya rasa pratibhāvitābhis
tābhir ya eva nija-rūpatayā kalābhiḥ
goloka eva nivasaty akhilātma-bhūto
govindam ādi-puruṣaḿ tam ahaḿ bhajāmi 163 [from Brahma-saḿhitā 5.37]

Of them (the gopis) and even of the two (Candrāvalī and Rādha), who are in their midle, - tayor apy ubhayor madhye
Radha is in every respect the foremost. -rādhikā sarvathādhikā
That which is the form of the greatest love - iyam mahā-bhāva-svarūpā
has the utmost supreme qualities. - ativarīyasī guṇair.

Having a body which is the very form of spiritual erotic love, - svarūpa-deha premera
she is a transformation of spiritual love. - vibhāvita prema
She is the foremost dear one of Krișna, - śreṣṭhā preyasī kṛṣṇera
(and this) is known throughout the universe. - vidita jagate

Tika: Any spiritual body that is made of spiritual erotic love originates from Radha's love for Krișna.

I worship this Govinda, the Original Taster of Pleasure - ahaḿ bhajāmi tam govindam ādi-puruṣaḿ
of course the soul of all that exists, residing in Goloka (that is) - eva ātma akhila bhūtaḥ nivasaty goloka
certainly together with those who have a form like Himself and are expansions of Him, - eva tābhir yah tābhir nija-rūpatayā kalābhiḥ
all the while immersed in the tasting of spiritual ecstasy. - prati bhāvitābhiḥ rasa ānanda cinmaya

Tika: This verse is not directly related to Radha as some translators claim, as she is not mentioned here directly. The verse refers to all the inhabitants of Goloka (Vrindavan), who are always immersed in tasting spiritual ecstasy, and Rādhā ist not mentioned as the foremost of all or in any other way.

sei mahābhāva haya cintāmaṇi-sāra
kṛṣṣṇa-vāññchā pūrṇa kare ei kārya tāńra 164
mahābhāva cintāmaṇi rādhāra svarūpa
lalitādi sakhī tāńra kāya vyūha rūpa 165 

This supreme ecstasy is the essence of the philosophical gems, - sei mahā-bhāva haya sāra cintāmaṇi
and it fully satiates Krișna's desires. - kare pūrṇa vāññchā kṛṣṇa
This is its intrinsic quality (of the supreme ecstasy - mahābhāva). - ei kārya tāńra.

Tika: In this verse, which is a commentary on the previous verse is spoken about mahā-bhāva - that is Rādāṣṇṇa's love, although in that verse 163 there is no mention of mahā-bhāva.

The philosophical gem that is the Supreme Bliss, - cintāmaṇi mahā-bhāva

is the very form of Radha - svarūpa rādhāra
And (her) girlfriends beginning with Lalita - sakhī adi lalita
are direct expansions of her form. - kāya-vyūha rūpa tāńra
