8.3 Prema Kanta - Complete possession of Krișna
paripūrṇa-kṛṣṇa-prāpti ei 'premā' haite
ei premāra vaśa kṛṣṇa - kahe bhāgavate (CC 2.8.88)
Complete attainment of Krișna - prāpti paripūrṇa kṛṣṇa
is realized by spiritual love. - ei haite premā
About this type of love (by which Krișna is attained in its complete form) - ei premāra
by which Krișna comes under the control (of the devotee) - kṛṣṇa vaśa
is spoken in Bhagvat (Puran). - kahe bhāgavate
Tika: In this connection Rāmānanda Rāya quotes Krișna's words recorded in Śrimad Bhagavatam (10.82.44), when He meets the gopis after years of separation,
at the holy place called Samanta Panceaka during a solar eclipse.
After meeting them in a secluded place and embracing each of them, He smiled and said:
mayi bhaktir hi bhūtānām amṛtatvāya kalpate
diṣṭyā yad āsīn mat-sneho bhavatīnāḿ mad-āpanaḥ (CC 2.8.89)
Devotional service for Me certainly qualifies - bhaktiḥ mayi kalpate hi
all beings for eternal life. - bhūtānām amṛtatvāya
Happily (for you) the means to obtain Me - diṣṭyā yat mat-āpanaḥ
is your (amorous) love for Me. - āsīt snehaḥ bhavatīnām mat
Tika: Bhakti Sādhana without Love for Kṛṣṇa leads to eternal existence, but not to Kṛṣṇa.
The Gopis love Krișna; therefore they attain Krișna and eternal life with Krișna.
