74-76 Hindolā Līlā (Jhulana)

74-75 After a while, Viśākhā cues everyone to descend. Then as Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa remain, Lalitā and the others begin to swing them higher and higher with increased speed.
But becoming frightened, Rādhikā tightly embraces Kṛṣṇa for support, and the Sakhīs smile. Then Kṛṣṇa holds Rāi-maṇi and they descend from the hindola together.

Ṭīkā: Rādhā exclaims, eto vege jhulāio nā, prāṇa bandhu pore jābe!" ("Oh Sakhīs! Don't swing so hard! My prāṇa vallabha might fall down!") Understanding Rādhā's ecstasy, however, the Sakhīs continue swinging with all their energy, all the while singing in paramānanda. This scene can be contemplated as follows:dekho Sakhī jhulato yugala kiśora

nīlamaṇi jorālo kāñcana jora
lalitā viśākhā sakhī jhulāoto sukhe
ānande magana heri dohe dohā mukhe
garajata gagane saghane ghana ghora
rañginī sañginī gherato cauora
vividha kusume sabe raciyā hindolā
dolāya jugala sakhī ānande vibholā
jhulāoto sakhī gaṇa karatalī diyā
suvadanī kohe pāche giraye vadhūyā
vigalito dukula udita sveda bindu
amiya jhoraye jeno duhu mukha indu
here saba sakhī gaṇa doṅhākāra śrama
cāmara bījana lei koroye Sevāna
bhramara kokila sab bosi taru ḍāle
jaya jaya rādhā-krsna rādhā-krsna bole
kohe jagannātha kobe habe śubha dine

sakhī saha doṅhākāra heribo vipine"Look, Sakhī! Śrī Yugala Kiśora are swinging-like a Nīlamaṇi (blue sapphire) siting in gold. Lalitā and Viśākhā push the hindola enjoying their beautiful faces. Thick rainclouds rumble in the sky, as Rāi Raṅginī's sanginis surround the flower decorated hindola.

Aha! The Sakhīs lose themselves in ecstasy while swinging the Divine Couple in pairs! Some of the Sakhīs clap and tell lovely-faced Rādhā: "Hold your Prāṇa-Vallabha tightly!" Rādhā Kṛṣṇa's hair loosens and perspiration beads glide from their moon-faces in drops of nectar.

Seeing Yugala Kiśora's fatigue, the Sakhīs twirl Cāmaras. The Kokilas and the bees watch from the branches, calling: "Jaya jaya Rādhā Kṛṣṇa! Jaya Rādhā Kṛṣṇa!" Jagannath Dāsa (an associate of Chaitanya Mahāprabhu and the disciple of Gadadhar Pāndit) says, "When will I see Yugala Kiśora's jhulan Līlā in the forest Nikuñjas?"76
Aha! What more can we say about Kṛṣṇa's jhulan-mādhurī? He's a nava jaladhārā surrounded by the lightning-like Gopīs! Yet Kuṇḍalatā and the others drink the cloud's Rāsa like Cāṭaka birds! Thus, Vṛndāvan is glorious as this Līlā continues to shower nectar!

Hindola Līlā (Jhulana)
Kṛṣṇa-bhāvanamṛta's version is equally relishable. Here is a synopsis:
Vṛnda exclaims, "Hey Rasika Yugala! Come this way, here's the beautiful forest known as Varṣā-harṣa! Since this is the Rāiny season, see the lightning flashes in the clouds. But upon seeing you, the clouds consider: "Aha! The cloud and the lightning traversing the earth far surpass our splendor! So surely, we're unfit to remain above them. But what can we do? Their bright effulgence illumines the entire sky!

"As the clouds thus feel sorrow, they release rāin-tears and turn pale! Seeing the lightning and the clouds, Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa ponder:
Oh! Out of love they're sheltering us from the summer heat-like a blue sapphire umbrella with a golden trim!"

As the clouds contemplate their fortune, they shed Rāin-tears, turn pale, and praise Rādhā Kṛṣṇa's qualities with faltering thunder voices.
While viewing the forest's beauty, Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa enter a kadamba kānana. The Śyāma-colored tree-branches twist and turn upwards and millions of bright yellow flowers bloom overhead. There are mandapas and vedīs in numerous shapes and sizes that soothe the heart.

The kadamba flowers shower madhu, and the bees serve as guards. Beside each vedī the kadambas' arching branches are held by emerald pillars, and there are flower wreaths strung in front.

Every vedī has a gorgeous swing that suspends from red silken ropes with pearls strung through them; and the swings are gently gliding back and forth in the breeze.
Rādhā's dāsīs have decorated them with all sorts of fragrant stemless flowers and made a seat with fine silken cloth....so they have mystic potency to allure Kṛṣṇa's mind!
