sarva tyaji' jīvera kartavya kāhāń vāsa
vraja-bhūmi vṛndāvana yāhāń līlā-rāsa 254
Abandoning everything, where shall the being dwell? - tyaji sarvakāhāń kartavya vāsa jīvera
In the land of Vraja, in the forest of Vṛndā, where the pastimes of the flavors of spiritual love took place. - vraja vana vṛndā yāhāń līlā rāsa
Tika: Understanding the glories of the Gopīs, Uddhava says, as reported in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.47.61):
āsām aho caraṇa reṇu juṣām ahaḿ syāḿ
vṛndāvane kim api gulma-latauṣadhīnām
yā dustyajaḿ sva-janam ārya pathaḿ ca hitvā
bhejur mukunda padavīḿ śrutibhir vimṛgyām
May I become any kind of bush, creeper or grass in the forest of Vrinda, - aho ahaḿ syāḿ kim api gulma lata oṣadhīnām vṛndāvane
who taste the dust on their (Gopīs') feet, - juṣām reṇu caraṇa āsām
who have renounced their own family and the path of nobility (chastity), which is difficult to renounce, - yā hitvā sva-janam pathaḿ ārya dustyajaḿ
to worship the feet of the giver of liberation (from the cycle of birth and death), - bhejur padavīḿ mukunda
