Nikuñja Rati Keli

140 Kundalatā says, "Citre! Look, Kṛṣṇa is freely distributing his wealth. So, if you don't accept it, what's the donor's loss? Kṛṣṇa's wealth can remain with him! Kṛṣṇa, why waste you time with these misers? It would be wiser to exchange gifts with Rādhā."

141 Thus Kṛṣṇa's eyes restlessly search for Rādhāranī. But when he does not see her, he retorts: "Hey Lalite! You're a number one imposter for hiding Vaṁśī-chori Rāi! You should bring her here at once, lest you have to suffer the consequences!"

142 Lalitā answers, "I'm not a witness, and who knows where she is? Rādhā is the befitting partner to share your kingdom. I'm going home."

143 Then a sakhi answers, "Rādhā went home." Another replies, "She left to perform Sūrya Pūja." Yet another says, "Because you've contaminated Rādhā, she went to bathe in Mānasa Gaṅgā."

144 As the sakhīs' joking continues, Kṛṣṇa looks at Kundalatā. Then she hints with her eyes that Rādhā is in the kuñja nearby. Thus, Kṛṣṇa goes there.

145-147 When Kṛṣṇa enters the nikuñja mandir, Kundalatā shuts all of its doors with the sakhīs' help. Then they wait outside. Seeing Kṛṣṇa approaching, Rādhā tries to escape-but he catches her before she can reach the door! Then Kṛṣṇa carries her to the bed! Just as an intoxicated elephant plunges within a river to escape a blazing forest-fire, Kṛṣṇa relieves his blazing kāma upon the Sura-taraṅginī Gaṅges of Śrīmati Rādhikā!

Ṭīkā: Sura-taraṅginī are the waves in the heavenly Gaṅges which is called the Mandākinī. Surata-raṅginī means Rādhārani, the playful inducer of Kandarpa Keli.

148-149 Entering his vilāsa sindhu, Kṛṣṇa attempts to loose Rādhā's kañchulī and waist-belt-but Rādhā obstructs and all of the bracelets on her wrists loudly resound! Then Kṛṣṇa tries to say Vaṁśī me dehi (give me my flute), but owing to his maudlin state, his voice falters da-da-da-dehi! Rādhā attempts to answer: Vaṁśī mayi nasti (I don't have the Vaṁśī), but she is also choked with Cupid's intoxication, and utters ma-mama-ma-ma! As Kṛṣṇa loots the jewel of Rādhā's youth, she anxiously obstructs! But at last Kandarpa's general 'Dhārṣtya' (boldness) chases away Rādhā's sakhīs of patience, shyness and resistance!

As the vilāsa keli festival escalates both Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa combat each other with robust force! Rādhā's impassioned shrieking resemble the nectarean shrill of a Kokila! And in the playful tussle nail-scratches and bites appear on their bodies! Let Rādhā and Madava's nikuñja keli be glorified!

Ṭīkā: To glorify the pastime means to discuss it, to sing about it and to meditate on it. This is the means to overcome material lust and attain Rādhā Kṛṣṇa prema.

150 As the result of Śrī Rūpa's mature seva aroused by drinking the madhu at Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's lotus feet, the request of Śrī Raghunath Das, the association of Śrī Jiva and the benediction of Śrī Raghunath Bhatta, Govinda-lélämåta's tenth chapter ends.
