136-142 Śayana (Taking Rest)

136 Then Kṛṣṇa goes to another room in the padma mandir and rests upon a flowerbed. Tulasī and others approach to offer Pān, massage his legs, fan him with Cāmaras or perform other sevās.

Ṭīkā: The Śayana mandir is ready and waiting. Just previously Vṛnda elaborately decorated this bed chamber. Flower Mālās hang from the ceiling, from the windows and over the doorways. And there is a flower ceiling fan ahove the bed that the Mañjarīs pull with flower-laden ropes, the floor is covered with rose petals, and the bed is smothered in lotus petals with thick flower pillows, too.
In Kṛṣṇahnika-Kaumudī, Kṛṣṇa leaves the padma mandir after bhojan and rests upon a jeweled Vedī beside a shady tree.

137-139 While chewing their Pān, Subala and Batu proceed to the southern wing of the padma mandir and take rest on their cooling flower beds.
Meanwhile, Rādhā sits down with Lalitā, Viśākhā and the other Sakhīs who are eager to enjoy Kṛṣṇa's Adharāmṛta. Thus, Rūpa Mañjarī and Vṛnda begin serving.
Nāndīmukhī and Kuṇḍalatā's laughter becomes like another Sakhī serving the meal, for their light conversation adds to the bhojanānanda.

Ṭīkā: Adharāmṛta is the nectar of Kṛṣṇa's lips; it is the flavor that makes Kṛṣṇa's prasāda enjoyable for the Gopīs. Thus, at mealtime, their hearts are fixed on the flavor of Kṛṣṇa's lips, the delicious taste of the meal is secondary.

Although Kuṇḍalatā and Nāndīmukhī make amusing comments to stimulate Rādhā's absorption in Kṛṣṇa, they are partaking with the others also.

In Kṛṣṇahnika-Kaumudī there are more details:
When Kṛṣṇa goes to take rest, the Sakhīs become exceedingly restless to enjoy the object of their hearts' craving - Śrī Kṛṣṇa's adharāmṛta. Thus, the leading Sakhī, Śrī Rādhikā, overlooks all formality to relish the first morsel! But then she considers: "Uh! I shouldn't eat like this!" Thus, Sumukhī Rāi addresses the Sakhīs: "Oh chaste ones! Let's all take prasāda together. Some of you can serve. I'm unable to do anything without you, what to speak of dining."

As the Sakhīs eagerly sit in a circle, Vṛnda begins serving Rādhā and then the others. After partaking, everyone thinks, "Because this meal was touched by Kṛṣṇa's lips, its natural taste has wonderfully increased!"
Thus, Rādhā and the Sakhīs relish many items one after the other. Then they wash their mouths with camphorated water and enjoy Pān.

140-141 After performing ācamana, Rādhā and the Sakhīs enter Kṛṣṇa's Śayana mandir. Rādhā sits on a corner of the bed, and the others sit around the bed in a circle.
Vṛnda offers Rādhā, tulasī and the Sakhīs Kṛṣṇa's tambul vīṭikā. Nāndīmukhī, Kuṇḍalatā and Dhaniṣṭhā are given separate Pān.

Ṭīkā: Nāndīmukhī is the daughter of a brāhmana, Kuṇḍalatā is Kṛṣṇa's jyeṣṭtha bhrātṛ-vadhū (his older cousin's wife), and Dhaniṣṭhā is senior in age. Thus, these three persons are worthy of Kṛṣṇa's Prāṇamas. So Vṛnda doesn't serve them Kṛṣṇa's adharāmṛta tambula in front of him. However, when Kṛṣṇa isn't present, they privately enjoy his remnants.

142 Then Tulasi, Rūpa and the other sevā-parāyana Mañjarīs leave with Vṛnda to take prasāda.Ṭīkā: Lalitā, Viśākhā and the other Sakhīs remain surrounding Rādhā Kṛṣṇa's flower bed to exchange narma Kathā, laughter and light-hearted joking.
